Well, the muddy dubs were well and truly splashed through as a great turn-out of runners braved the storm warnings and took part in the first of (hopefully) the BSAC winter series cross country races. As it turned out the weather gods were kind and the rains held off until the end of the presentations (chocolate!).
Many thanks to the marshalls and helpers and supporters and WELL DONE RUNNERS. Competition was fierce in some categories. It was very pleasing to see so many (very) senior men - where were the wifies? The courses were short but testing, with a particularly brutal hill climb, but the going was mostly good underfoot, with a flying descent to the finish. The courses were only measured very roughly by Strava, so apologies if you were saving yourselves for the last 500m which never appeared. Impressive showings from Alana, Hannah, Felix, Millie, Cameron & Izzy who dominated their races, but competition was tough, especially at U11, where Max and Dylan battled to a photo finish.
Its amazing what a small club can achieve with determination and fantastic support.
Well done to all at BSAC.
From the 30th July 2020 BSAC became a Scottish Charity Incorporated Organization (SCIO).
We are now a fully-fledged charity with the benefits and protection that charity status gives us.
As a SCIO the club will have more access to be able to apply for funding to help develop our facilities both in Banchory and Stonehaven.
The board is now run by 11 Trustees, but as a club we are always looking for people to volunteer by sharing their skills and helping us with future projects.
