The Club

BSAC was founded in 1977 as Banchory AAC and in 1982 a branch of the club was started in Stonehaven.  The Club name was changed to Banchory Stonehaven Athletics Club to represent the two communities.

Banchory athletes train in Alexander Park where there is a grass 400m athletics track, 75m three lane all weather running strip, long jump pit, shot putt circle and discus cage, high jump fan and javelin area.  Stonehaven athletes train at Mackie Academy and although training is separate, members join together for trials, championships and league meetings.

The club over the years has had British, Scottish and School Champions in track and field and in cross country.

Coaches

Our Coaches and Officials are all volunteers and give up their time freely to help our athletes attain their achievements they are qualified under UK Athletics and are PVG checked. Many are parents who have become qualified in order for the club to continue and this remains the case to date.
