Youth Development League 2016
GIRLS TEAM
Hi there everyone,
For those that do not know me, I’m Allie Darragh and I co-ordinated the boys last year for the Petrofac League. This year I am going to be co-ordinating the girl’s team for the Youth Development League. This league is for the Under13/15 age group, with a limited number of events available on the same day for Under 17’s. This is a great league for athletes to gain experience of competition, with a few different clubs to the Grampian Athletics league, and a good opportunity to work on PB’s and improve chances of selection for other matches. Please don't let lack of transport put you off competing - let me know and I will try to arrange a lift with another family. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you, Allie. email: [email protected]

BOYS TEAM
Hi everyone, my name is Hazel Keir and this year I have taken on the role of both YDL and GAL boys team manager. I am looking forward to another athletics summer season and hope to see as many as you as possible taking part and having a go. The BSAC crew all love to see our club vest on the track and in the field events and you can be sure you will always be cheered on. Remember it’s all about having fun and gaining experience, and the competitions are a great way to try all different events and improve on your own personal bests.
Any questions please ask. Look forward to hearing from you. Hazel email: [email protected]

Meeting Dates for 2016 are as follows:
Sunday 24 April - Dundee
Sunday 22 May - Inverness
Sunday 19 June - Aberdeen
See below for timetable of events on the day.
You can compete in up to three events plus a relay. U13/15 athletes cannot compete in a 800m and a 1200/1500 on the same day. There are limited non-counting places, in the 75m and 800m for U13 and 100/800m for U15. At this stage, particularly U13/15, try not to limit yourself to a specific type of event – if you want to have a go at something, please do!
These are the birth dates applying to the age groups:
Under 13: Born between 1/09/03 and 31/08/05
Under 15: Born between 1/09/01 and 31/08/03
Under 17: Born between 1/09/99 and 31/08/01
It is vitally important that all teams have the requisite number of officials volunteering in all areas including Track and Field, Judging and Timekeeping. Please let me know if you are able to help at all on the day.
